CHINA CLAY / KAOLIN

Kaolin also called China clay is one of the most common minerals. Kaolin powder is used in ceramics, medicine, coated paper, as a food additive, in toothpaste, as a light diffusing material in white incandescent light bulbs, and in cosmetics. It is generally the main component in porcelain. 

What is kaolin?


Kaolin is essentially a white, clay mineral used quite often in the creation of porcelain and certain types of ceramics. Egyptian Kaolin especially,is considered in its raw form to be quite hard and massive. Known also as China clay and Chamotte, this particular product is abundantly found in Pakistan from where we predominantly export and import to China, Middle East, Turkey, Europe and different different parts of the world.

Both products are utilized in the ceramics and porcelain industries. Our raw kaolin boasts an alumina content of 36%; while after calcination this increases to right around 40%.

Size grading
